There are plenty of walks and paths to follow across an approximate six kilometre trail, It is a steep walk with an incline which makes the Los Ajaches walk one not for the light hearted.
Starting your walk from the village of Femés the trails wiggle along pathways, tracks, and dusty roads. There are plenty of signposts so you don’t get lost.
The untouched natural surroundings allow you the chance to see Lanzarote’s bushwood vegetation and Canary Island Spurge, that are to be found in some of the more sheltered areas.
There are many birds of prey and sea birds on the coastal cliffs if twitching is your thing.
Remember to wear suitable footwear and take food and plenty of liquids. It is HOT out there!
Exiting the park’s valleys you will finally discover the crystal clear waters and golden sandy beaches of Papagayo. Considered by many as one of the most beautiful areas in Lanzarote, with the breathtaking backdrop of the Ajaches mountains, it is really not to hard to see why this is a photographer’s dream landscape.
On your way to explore some of Lanzarotes finest beaches you can always stop and see what the island looks like underneath it’s rocky exterior of the lava by visiting Cueva de los verdes or Jameos del Agua.

There are only two restaurants and bars in Papagayo. They are both overlooking the beach areas with a great view of the Playa de Papagayo. These two places are the only places in the park that have any services.
Beware if you are not a paying customer. They will charge you to use their facilities.
The menus are basic and prices are reasonable. You will be thankful that they are there!!
This is an amazing place to come and enjoy those fabulous orange sunsets, with breath taking views.
